1. Resident Career Day:
a. We have received 100 tote bags from Kelly Foster at the ACR (free
of charge) to be given to residents attending the career day
b. Laser pointers with the NYSRS logo and "NYSRS Resident Career Day"
printed on it; have been ordered and received. This too will be given to
residents attending the career day.
c. The career day brochure has been finalized and approved by Dr.
Sarah Abramson, Chair of the NYSRS Residents Committee. The brochures went to
print the first week of August and will be distributed to all program directors
and chairs of departments.
d. We are arranging the catering and A V equipment and a memo has gone
out to Mr. Schiffer for his aid in such .
2. Resident E-mail:
a. We have collected numerous e-mail addresses from almost all of the
Chief residents of all of the New York State radiology programs. Unfortunately,
there are several programs which have not responded to numerous letters and
e-mails. Phone calls will be made to these programs.
b. An e-mail has gone out to all of the resident e-mails in our
databank. The e- mail alerts the residents to the upcoming Resident Career Day.
The letter also welcomes all the recipients as resident members of the NYSRS and
discusses the importance of continuing their membership in the NYSRS and ACR
when they graduate.
3. American College of Radiology annual meeting:
a. Dr. Luchs (the present Resident President) and Dr Campbell (the
Resident President-Elect) will be attending this year's American College of
Radiology annual meeting.
b. Both of the above aforementioned will be attending the ACR council
meeting and the course on PET-Imaging (given the day before the meeting). The
invitation to attend these meetings was from the ACR.
