Radiology Resident Career Workshop
The 11th annual Resident Career Workshop will be held on Saturday, November 13,
2004 at Lenox Hill Hospital. We have filled all of the panelist positions,
including those for the “Fellowship” and “Types of Practice” panels. This year
we will have a moderator for the “Types of Practice” panel who will be Dr.
Perlmutter. The ACR speaker this year will be Dr. Amis.
A simultaneous workshop will be run for radiation oncology residents in an
adjoining conference room. Dr. Bernadine Donahue has been working to create a
program suitable for radiation oncology residents. The speakers for this section
have also been invited and all have accepted.
Our plan is to move ahead with updating and printing the career day brochure so
that it is available for distribution. The invitations will be mailed out to all
New York radiology and radiation oncology residents. In addition, New Jersey and
Connecticut residents will be invited.
The ACR will again provide handouts/information to the attendees, in addition,
to donating 5 ACR Learning File disks to be raffled.
Resident E-mail Database
The ACR has a near comprehensive e-mail/demographical database of radiology and
radiation oncology residents which is updated and available in January of each
year. This list has been added to our database to be used to distribute
information regarding upcoming NYSRS Resident Physician Section activities.

The 2003-04 Executive Committee of the Resident Physician Section is now
complete with the appointments of Steven Krampert, M.D., a diagnostic radiology

Israel Medical Center as Secretary. Joshua Kern, M.D, is continuing his role as

ACR Resident Physician Section Meeting

meeting in Washington, D.C. from May 8th – 13th and will also serve on Reference

ACR Chapter Recognition Program
The ACR is creating a category for state chapters that have active resident
physician sections as well as resident specific meetings, such as a career day.
This category will begin in 2004 but will not be recognized until the 2005 ACR
Leadership Conference.
